I get inspiration for my design work from many places. I have a subscription to New Design Magazine which I look forward to every month. I get inspiration from looking at current designs and trends. I am also making the most of living in London and regularly visit museums and exhibitions. My tutors at Central Saint Martins are very successful, so looking at their work and current designs reinforces my aspirations of becoming a product designer. My favourite tools to use when designing are definitely my Tria Markers, without a doubt! They are reliable, fun, and give my work the wow-factor! I couldn't live without my Tria Markers and the Letreset pads which are by far the best you can buy. The quality of the paper is fantastic, and the colour is a brighter white than other brands! I only started using Tria about 6 Months ago, but being able to successfully blend with the Tria Marker pens was instantaneous; they are so easy to use. I always use Letraset as their products are really user-friendly, always better quality than other brands and really fun!
Top Tips:I always put a bit of black and white pencil on top of the marker pens to give it some more depth. Keep adding layers and colours a little bit at a time and blend them into each other, which I think gives a more digitally enhanced look. Don't overpower yourself by using too many colours all at once. Start with just a few shades and practice with those first. I also found it easier to use different shades of greys at first as they are easier to blend. Once you get used to doing this, and become confident with your technique, gradually start to use the more colours.
