There's nothing original in the statement that I've been drawing since I remember. But well, it's true. I grew up being highly influenced by Disney's animated movies, redrawing its princesses over and over (especially Little Medmaid!), until I was able to recreate them without any references. Then I started to modify their faces, hairs, clothes, etc., and this is when my real passion for drawing started. In the meantime another fandom appeared - the unforgettable Sailor Moon, who drew me into the world of manga & anime. These two important factors - Disney and Manga - had the greatest influence in creating my current style, and they can be clearly visible in any of my works.

Although drawing since the beginning, it was at the age of 17 when I decided to totally immerse in the world of art. I took many drawing courses and studied Art of New Media course where I experienced everything from animation to 3D graphics, and where I finally crystallised my biggest speciality - illustration. I love working both digitally and traditionally, and every picture is for me like a new different adventure in which I experiment various techniques and discover new methods.
I found it refreshing and stimulating to jump from one style to another ...by this you not only improve your overall skills, but also keep your mind open for more and more inspirations!

While studying, I also learned about digital painting. Not so long ago, I also discovered the power of markers. Thanks to their capabilities, I invented my most beloved own character, Lucy the Witch, and learned how to use them while drawing her. I can't stay too long focusing on only one style. I found it refreshing and stimulating to jump from one style to another, for example from Manga to Realism - by this you not only improve your overall skills, but also keep your mind open for more and more inspirations!

I'm on my never-ending path of improving, hoping that someday I'll be able to reflect visually everything I have in my mind.

My process:
Depending on the style I choose, my process of creating is diverse. But let's say there are two categories - drawings and paintings.
Image 3 When doing a drawing, I start from a rough thumbnail sketch, usually on paper or whatever I have around me. Then I scan it and in Photoshop I make this sketch much more detailed and concrete. When I think the composition and all the elements are working together, I carefully draw a line-art above the sketch. This process always takes much time, but if you don't pay enough attention to it, the final effect won't be satisfying. When the line-art is ready, I may either print the picture and colour it with markers, or finish it digitally. I prefer the cell-shading method, it looks very clean and reminds me of animated movies. :D If I choose markers, firstly I put the base colours, and when they dry I add shadows - sometimes using the same colour, sometimes another. Finally, I thicken the line-art with some black pen and add highlights - the picture gains life! This is what I love about working traditionally - you start with a white paper and end up with something that lives its own life, and you can take it wherever you want!

The process is totally different when I decide to paint. I start and finish everything digitally, making only a quick draft and then applying stains of colours. There's much more "artistic" feeling with painting then drawing, but it ends up similar - the devils in the DETAILS! I can spend hours on rendering a face, I want everything to be perfect. Remember to work on huge resolutions - the details you'll create at 100% zoom will benefit in the finished picture.

This is my little world of creating. Now I'm running my own business illustrating books, magazines, websites etc. I can risk saying that my dreams are coming true - but in reality I'm on the never-ending path of improving, hoping that someday I'll be able to reflect visually everything I have in my mind.
