 Born in South Wales in 1948 Syd Roderick went to Carmarthen Grammar School before heading to South-East England to study at the Maidstone College of art.Whilst studying in Carmarthen Syd discovered his passion for art and design and inspired by the stunning landscapes and armed with nothing but a sketch book and pencil he developed his abilities as a skillful artist. | |
 On moving to Maidstone his creative development continued with weekly drawing classes which, although he was enrolled in a graphic design course, still included a strong focus on life classes and still life. During this period Syd started leaning towards illustration and soon discovered that, at this time, airbrush design was king. Inspired by highly successful and well-known illustrators like Alan Aldridge and Philip Castel, Syd explored many different styles and disciplines before he embarked on his now distinguished career as a professional illustrator and visualizer. | |
