Profile:

I'm a freelance car designer who uses traditional marker methods primarily, often combining them with computer illustration.

For as long as I can remember I have drawn cars, even when at school when I was supposed to be learning other subjects I had exercise books full of car drawings. I followed this obsession right through school, college and university.

I use Tria markers and occasionally ProMarkers in my work. I started using these about 10 years ago when my local store got them in stock. I'd used other brands before but found that with Tria markers' 3 nib system I had more control over my drawings and also that there was a greater range of colours.

Top Tips:

The Letraset markers are great for fast sketchbook ideas as well as more detailed rendering. I like using grey markers over a ballpoint pen sketch to create a fast fluid visualisation and also using soft coloured pencils to blend with the wet marker. You can also use an airbrush to spray over the nib to create a really vibrant spray effect.

In fact the Letraset marker is so much more than a 3-nibbed felt-tip pen!
